Beth Turner’s documentary film is about the “original psychedelic grunge hillbilly fiddle player from outer space” takes us on a unique journey into the life and legacy of an enigmatic musician from Oklahoma, blending genres, countercultures, and timeless themes of rebellion, freedom, and community. The film explores how this one man’s eccentric, genre-defying music became a cultural force—mixing elements of psychedelic rock, grunge, and old-school Appalachian fiddle—while also diving into the unconventional lifestyle that shaped him.
Beth Turner is a multifaceted creative force whose diverse skills span filmmaking, music, invention, education, and social media expertise. With a deep passion for storytelling, Beth has dedicated her career to using her unique talents to connect with people, empower others, and create meaningful narratives that resonate on a personal and societal level.
The film showed at the 2025 Fort Smith International Film Festival, and this screening is a partnership between the River Valley Film Society and the Ozark Mountain Music Festival. Our goal is to include the art of film in festivals and events across the region.
