The Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow is proud to bring back their wonderful Poetluck events!
Poetluck, the monthly open-mic-style poetry event, is back after a hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first in-person Poetluck since the pandemic began will be held on Thursday, April 20, from 6 pm to 9 pm in the Great Room at the Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow, located at 515 Spring St, Eureka Springs AR.Poetluck has been a staple of the local writing community for years, providing a platform for writers-in-residence and local writers to share their voices. The first Poetluck in 2023 will honor Woody Barlow, a founding member of the event, and will feature his wife Lynne Barlow reading from his book 'Tarzan Wore Chaps'. Nancy Paddock, the new Programming Consultant at WCDH, says, “I’m excited that after almost 3 years the poets of Eureka Springs are to getting together to read their work again. Everyone is welcome from beginners to published poets and listeners too. We have such creative minds in our town, it is a treat to enjoy their work.”Regular attendees of previous Poetlucks, including Zeek Taylor, Crescent Dragonwagon, Charles Templeton, Danny Morris, David Geneson, Janie Pritchett, Harrie Farrow, Ruth Weinstein, and Wendy Taylor Carlisle, have been invited to return and share their work. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish, a donation, and a 5-minute read to share. The event promises to be a celebration of local poetry and writing, as well as a reunion for members of the community who have missed gathering together for this event.Poetluck is a free event, open to all members of the community.
