Flag Day CelebrationDescription
The community is invited to take part in the Elks? annual FLAG DAY commemoration ceremony at Elks Lodge in Holiday Island on Wed, June 14 at 3 pm. The Program involves the Elks, VFW, American Legion, a representative from the Opera of the Ozarks, Jeff Timm, Pastor of the Holiday Island Community Church, and the Boy Scouts.
The event is held annually in conjunction with the collection of tattered and torn American Flags. The public is invited to bring their old flags, those no longer fit for public display, for proper retirement and disposal.
The day will mark the 240th anniversary of the adoption of the nation?s flag by the Continental Congress in 1777. OPEN AND FREE TO THE PUBLIC. Refreshments to follow.
Please join our Elk?s Lodge, 4 Park Cliff Drive, Holiday Island in celebrating this special day, and to give thanks to those who have served or have sadly sacrificed their lives to protect the land we love and the flag we so proudly display in our homes and communities.
