All-Day Screenwriting Workshop, Dinner & Film Screening

Eureka Springs welcomes an exciting day of education, conversation, and cinema on Saturday, March 7, 2026, as the Fort Smith International Film Festival, Writer’s Colony at Dairy Hollow, Eureka Springs Advertising & Promotion Commission, and the MidAmerica Film Market present a special all-day screenwriting and film event.

The day begins at 3:00 PM at the Writer’s Colony at Dairy Hollow with Screenwriting for Distribution & Marketing, a hands-on workshop offered in person and online as part of the MidAmerica Film Market 2026 Workshop Series. This practical, industry-focused session explores how distribution and marketing considerations should shape a screenplay from the very beginning. Participants will gain insight into how film distribution works, when to approach distributors, what they look for, common red flags, contract considerations, and how to intentionally build marketable moments into scripts. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies to increase their film’s visibility and commercial potential.

At 5:00 PM, workshop participants are invited to an intimate dinner with acclaimed writer, producer, and director Kate Siegenthaler, offering a unique opportunity for conversation and connection with an accomplished Arkansas filmmaker.

The evening concludes at 7:30 PM at the historic Eureka Auditorium with a screening of Siegenthaler’s award-winning supernatural thriller Inthralled. Shot in Northwest Arkansas, the film follows a widowed mother and daughter who return to the mother’s childhood home decades after a tragedy, awakening an ancient family curse tied to a forbidden book. The film premiered at the 2025 Fayetteville Film Fest, where it won Audience Choice Award and Best of Fest, and is currently streaming across multiple platforms.

Kate Siegenthaler, based in Bentonville, has authored six original screenplays and produced and directed multiple award-winning projects. Her latest feature, Inthralled, released in October 2025, continues to build momentum as she develops a prequel and other creative works.
