Book Launch: "Welcome to Eureka Springs: The I-Sh*t-You-Not History of America's Quirkiest Town" by Jude Gaillot Join us at The Writers' Colony on Thursday, September 10th for the highly anticipated launch of Eureka Springs local Jude Gaillot's debut book.
Four years ago, Jude Gaillot thought he was starting a small project. It turned into hundreds of interviews, mountains of research, and one wild book. The result: 60 true stories that capture everything strange and wonderful about Eureka Springs, from a motorcycle-riding, anarchist-leaning mayor to the mysterious "cure" that put this town on the map in the first place.
Join Jude for an evening of local history done his way: sharp, funny, and completely true. What's Happening: He'll kick things off with live readings on three Eureka Springs women who changed the world: hatchet-wielding Prohibitionist Carry A. Nation, nurse-midwifery pioneer Mary Breckinridge, and Flapper icon Irene Castle. Then he'll sit down with Courtney Hayes of KESA 100.9 FM to talk about the four-year journey behind the book, take questions from the crowd, and sign copies for anyone who wants one.
About Jude: Jude is a former journalist and open source software developer who grew up in New Orleans and now calls Eureka Springs home. This is his first book. He's also WCDH's board president, so hosting this launch is a full-circle moment for us. Event Details Live reading, author conversation, Q&A, and signing Heavy appetizers served
