In 1966\, it was deeded to the City of Eureka Springs\, and in 1978\, it was officially established as a municipal cemetery through Ordinance 1031.\n\nCovering 46 acres with approximately 29 acres currently known as the main cemetery and an additional 17 acres across County Road 205?the grounds hold the interments or remains of more than 4\,500 people.
