DESCRIPTION:The 5th annual Arkansas State Chili Championship is taking place on Saturday\, April 18th at the beautiful Holiday Island Country Club. 25 cooks from around the country will compete for over $3\,000 in prize money in 4 chili categories: Red\, Homestyle\, Green and Veggie (new this year). The winners will e invited to cook in the World Chili Championship in September. For an $8 spectator fee spectators get to sample as much chili as they want and vote for their favorites! Public tasting is from 12:30 - 4pm. There will be live music and arts & crafts vendors. proceeds from this cookoff benefit the Good Shepard Humane Society\, a no-kill animal shelter.
