After its military service\, it was repurposed by the Arkansas Forestry Division as a wildland firefighting vehicle before eventually joining the Grassy Knob Volunteer Fire Department.\n\nWhile the truck has faithfully served our community\, age and wear have taken their toll. Today\, it costs the department approximately $1\,000 each month just to keep it operational\, and it can no longer meet the demands of modern firefighting.\n\nFor Grassy Knob\, a dependable water tender isn't just helpful it's essential.\n\nUnlike cities with fire hydrants on nearly every block\, the Grassy Knob Fire District covers approximately 20 square miles surrounding Beaver Lake\, where hydrants are extremely limited. The only primary water line runs from the Carroll-Boone Water District pump station near Beaver Dam toward Eureka Springs and Berryville\, with very few accessible hydrants available throughout the district.\n\nBecause of this\, firefighters must transport water directly to emergency scenes. Unfortunately\, the department's current water tender is only capable of delivering 30 gallons of water per minute\, far below the 500 gallons per minute considered the minimum standard for effective firefighting operations.\n\nReplacing this truck will significantly improve the department's ability to protect homes\, businesses\, and lives throughout the Grassy Knob community.\n\nEvery dollar raised helps move the department one step closer to purchasing a reliable\, modern water tender that will serve the community for years to come.\n\nYour support doesn't just buy a truck it helps save lives.
